A Chance to put on a dress and cute shoes…YES PLEASE!!! Just spent 2 days in Milwaukee for the She’s Building Her Empire LIVE Event with Stacy Tuschl!!  It’s events like this that always take ME and MY Business to the next level!! Being an Entrepreneur and a mom, life just zooms in and out each day – so when I stop to actually FOCUS on content with NO DISTRACTIONS is usually when I have my lightbulb moments!!! And it doesn’t take a ton, sometimes its implementing ONE THING that can change the course of your business and your year!!

I have to say I just love her brand!!! “She’s Building Her Empire” is meant to represent the female entrepreneur no matter what her business is, working to build her DREAM BIZ!! So Smart! Its fun, classy and empowering! And thats one of things I really focused hard on this week was MY OWN BRAND….digging deeper to help me figure out my “ideal client” who she is, what she wants and more importantly HOW I CAN HELP HER!!  When you think of all YOU have accomplished and know you can help others do the same – its pretty amazing!  But first its putting myself back into the mindset of WHERE I WAS 7 years ago when I was struggling to figure things out….bc my brand is the girl just like me who just hasn’t made it over that HUMP….YET!!!

Who is Stacy Tuschl? Well to be honest, a year ago I didn’t know who she was!  I actually found her on a Facebook ad (imagine that!) sharing a free system to get organized and more productive.  That is how she drew me in!! It was a time when I was struggling to keep my head above water with everything that comes after having your 2nd baby, running a home and a business…and bc I”m NOT organized, I needed STRUCTURE, SYSTEMS and CHECKLISTS!! Within the first hour I fell in love with her and have been following her ever since.  She’s a 7 Figure Earning Female Entrepreneur who teaches other female entrepreneurs how to earn 6/7 figure incomes with her online academies. She’s a mom of 2 and the owner of 2 performing arts dance companies she has started from the ground up….pretty inspiring!

When I attend a live event I ALWAYS bring one of my Coaches with me. Always!! Honestly bc you can’t come back and SHARE the experience – you have to be there in the room, be present to take it all in and learn from it what YOU need at that time.  Plus its a way for us to spend time together, catch up, brainstorm, plan, troubleshoot, dream and LAUGH!  Kristia and I met 7 years ago at a Turbo Kick Training and have been friends ever since. She’s a Star Diamond Leader on my team and I value her leadership and friendship in my life 🙂 There aren’t many people I will room with and i think that says a lot when you do room with someone by choice….right???!!!

WE had a lot of FUN!! A break from the computer and the everyday. A Chance to connect and set up the year for NEW things to Happen!! Life is what you make it and who you surround yourself with!!  I always want to DREAM, LAUGH and HAVE FUN.

5 Years in Beachbody – What You Want to Know

This month I Celebrate 5 years as a Beachbody “Coach”!! When I look back to where I was when I joined and what I have Accomplished because of this company, it Blows My Mind!!! More so, because ANYONE can do what I have done…anyone that has the DRIVE and the DREAMS to want to Change their Life of course!! I’m going to share with you my Intrepretation on the Coaching Business and the Top 5 Questions I get asked all the time…maybe this is for you, maybe its not…but if you don’t make a move now in your life you might always ask yourself –

WHY NOT ME?

Before I get started, here are just some of the STATS I have achieved in the past 5 years

“I am NOW Earning a MONTH what I was making in a YEAR!!!”

Enrolled – June 1, 2008

  • Lost 20lbs from P90X, Turbo Fire & Shakeology! (I am lighter than I was in high school!!)
  • LOST 40lbs 7 Months POST BABY! Not to mention that I worked out through my ENTIRE PREGNANCY including teaching Turbo up to 35 weeks Prego!
  • Gained control of my health including Irritable Bowel Syndrome (battled with for 20 yrs!)
  • Learned how to get in the Best Shape of my Life the RIGHT WAY and keep it off!!
  • Went from Unemployment in Jan 2010 (from my full time job) to earning over $100K in Beachbody in 2011!!
  • Paid off over $30K in credit card debt
  • Paid my car off in full – we are DEBT FREE!!!
  • Never went “back to the corporate america J-O-B”, Beachbody is my full time income working part time hours
  • Built a Team of over 6000 Coaches
  • Hit ELITE COACH 2012 / Currently 9 Star Diamond in 1st Center, 3 Star Diamond in 2nd Center & 4 Star Diamond in husband’s account – basically I have built A LOT OF LEADERS duplicating my Success!!
  • Owner of MY TIME!! I am FREE to live my life how I choose, being a work from home mom and a role model for my daughter that you can do ANYTHING you put your mind to!

Honestly, this is just the beginning…I have even Bigger Goals to come and proud to say that absolutely nothing is out of reach!!

Before you read the next part – please know, I’m going to BE REAL with you on all of this!!! So I must start by saying this…this is an opportunity for you to Change Your Life!!!  No matter where you came from, the struggle you have gone through in your life, this is your chance to CHANGE IT…to become the person that inspires others, the person that pays it forward and will have a positive impact on others!! YOU can be the change in your family and DECIDE…you see I have only achieved Success because I was DONE!  When you understand that and know that this is “the vehicle” to Make It Happen, you will do whatever it takes to Learn, Study and Go To Work in your Coaching Business…everything else is just an excuse…make YOU a priority and it will Happen for YOU TOO!

TOP 5 QUESTIONS – WHAT YOU WANT TO KNOW 

1. DO I NEED TO KNOW A LOT OF PEOPLE?

Here’s a question I want you to ask yourself and take pen to paper…Who do you know that wants to Lose Weight? Have more Energy? Lower their cholesterol? Gain better Health?  Get in the Best Shape of their Life? Make more income? Work from home? Loves to help people naturally?  Are you starting to write a bunch of names down? Exactly! Look back at that list and think of who do they know that would also be interested in…..now what about your social media friends? So the question isn’t WHO WOULD BE INTERESTED or DO I NEED TO KNOW A LOT OF PEOPLE?  Because, at some point in their life, most people will be interested in losing weight or making an extra income…the REAL QUESTION is – ARE THEY GOING TO JOIN YOU or SOMEONE ELSE?!! BOOM!! Honestly, that’s how it works!!

2. I HATE SALES, IS THIS SELLING?

Why do you hate “Sales”?  Is it because you had a bad experience with an annoying sales person before who was pushy?!  Well that’s NOT going to be you!  It’s definitely NOT me!  There’s a difference between “amateur sales” and “professional sales OR relationship sales” which is what I like to call it.  Let me explain this VERY SIMPLY – this is YOUR JOB as a Coach – Find out WHAT each person wants and then help them achieve it!!  What are their fitness goals?  How much weight do they want to lose?  Why?  What have they done in the past that hasn’t worked?  What are they doing now?  Gather information to learn HOW YOU CAN HELP THEM…next you are going to SHARE Your Experience w/ the programs and how they worked for you!! Build a relationship w/ others…NEXT you will make a “Recommendation” as to which workout / shakeology program would best suit their goals and fitness level to get the Best Results!

So going back to #1 above – people JOIN people that they LIKE and TRUST!!  You CAN’T Motivate people to WANT to lose weight…what you can do is look for those who are READY to take that step and be the person that says – Hey have you ever considered…??

3. HOW DO YOU EARN A FULL TIME INCOME AND HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE ME?

There are basically 2 ways to build an income w/ your Coaching Business:

1. Building Customers & 2. Building a Team

Customer Challenge Groups – This is the CORE of the business, helping people get results w/ the BB programs by providing motivation and accountability.  A Challenge Group includes: approx 5 customers on the fitness program of their choice, shakeology, clean eating plan and the support of a coach!  This is a great way to get people to START their programs and actually FINISH them!!  You earn a commission on all product sales 🙂  This will also help YOU stay accountable to your own goals as you will be doing the program w/ your customers.  You can earn a couple hundred dollars each month by simply running one challenge group!!!!   And at the same time helping a lot of people change their bodies, their health and their life!

Building a Team – This is how you will build “residual” or walk away income!!  Simply put – Every year my income doubles or triples!!! WHAT?!! What job is going to DOUBLE your SALARY every year? They’re not!  But you can by owning your “own biz”!  Think of it like this – you are a manager of a clothing store and you work off of personal commissions but also earn off of each employee in the store…now each team member decides to franchise their own store and builds a team underneath them, you earn off of ALL OF THEM!  I don’t want to get technical but just to give you an idea of how it works…hopefully this makes sense!  Over time your team will grow and that is why your income grows year after year….not everyone who signs up as a coach WANTS to build a large biz and that’s ok!!  But you will find your “Diamonds” who do, they become your Leaders, your Best Friends and together your are on mission to achieve BIG DREAMS by helping one person at a time get in the best shape of their life!

You can focus strictly on Challenge Groups and Customers or both…its up to you!

4. I’M CRAZY BUSY, HOW MUCH TIME DOES IT REALLY TAKE?

Aren’t we all! LOL!  When I started I was working full time downtown chicago 50-60 hours a week & teaching classes part time! But I knew if I committed my life would be in a completely different place a year from now…and it was!  Do you have ONE HOUR a day?  1 Hour of FOCUS TIME, if so I can show you how to build it in exactly that!  This biz is about connecting with people, building relationships and helping others.  You are going to find that it will start to naturally come up in conversation just going thru your everyday life.  But as far as TRAINING & SPECIFIC ACTION ITEMS you must do EVERYDAY to build it – 1 hour! BOOM!!!

HOW I LOST THE LAST 20LBS!

Like most women, I’ve been on a life long journey to manage my weight.  Yes I am a Fitness Instructor and Yes I love to workout…simply for the Energy it gives me and the endorphin high that I’m addicted to!!  So why was I always struggling to lose the Last 10lbs? Even to hold the weight I was at was a struggle…it seemed like I could gain 5 lbs in a weekend if I didn’t workout or watch everything that I put into my mouth.  I like eating healthy and love to workout so what was the problem?  What was I missing?  This was a question I asked myself for a long time ….and I honestly thought that my body was suppose to be this way, it wanted to be at this weight and I had to accept that or did I?  Ultimately I wasn’t happy and was determined to find a solution…

20lbs later….


I have found the solution!!  Not only to the weight loss which I have kept off now for over a year, but for the first time in my life I am in CONTROL of my weight!!!  I have more Energy than Ever and I’m NOT hungry!! That’s powerful!!!  Here is how I did it….

In January of 2010 I was at my heaviest weight of 151lbs!  I made a commitment to start P90X and drink Shakeology everyday!!  P90X is exactly what my body needed!  My body is conditioned for cardio due to years of teaching group fitness but P90X was completely different…it is a 90 day at home fitness program involving Muscle Confusion.  Basically a different workout each day so your body can’t get comfortable because you’re constantly changing it up!! Then every 30 days the program changes and steps it up a notch!  The first 30 days kicked my booty!!  I started to see muscle definition, my strength improved and the inches started to melt away!!

The Game Changer for me was Shakeology!! And that’s where I really started to lose the weight from.  How does it work? Your Life Becomes what you Think About Most of the Time ~ The Secret

If you have followed my story, you may know me as a Fitness Instructor, a Turbo Kick Presenter, a Motivator, a Wife…and I am…I am all those things but what I didn’t even know about myself until most recently is that I have become a Life Changer!!

3 years ago I wouldn’t have ever thought that my life would take the turn that it did…but it has…and a lot of it is due to having my MIND in the right place!!  I did receive an Amazing Opportunity that could change my life, but if my MIND wasn’t in the right place to RECEIVE & ACCEPT IT I’m not sure the end result would still be the same.  I have read “The Secret” along with many other Personal Development books designed to help me become the BEST PERSON that I can be.  I recently read a quote by Jim Rohn “Work harder on yourself than you do on your Job…Work your Job and Earn a Living, Work on Yourself and Earn a Fortune!! —-  The Secret ~ Your Life becomes what you Think about Most of the Time… What are you thinking about most of the time? Cruisin the Caribbean

If you asked me a year ago if I ever thought I would be on a Caribbean Cruise in 2011, I would have said NO WAY…but WOW has life changed!

I want YOU to know that ANYTHING is possible when you set your Mind to it!!  Hardwork, Determination and FOCUS were definitely my Power Words for 2010….I was laid off from my full time job of over 13 yrs at the end of 2009 and instead of falling into a deep depression, I DECIDED this was my Opportunity to work my Business w/ full FOCUS!!  You would be surprised how far Goal Setting and Self Help Books will go….A Long Way!!  I had a Plan B and I’m so thankful I did…because this is where it led me

I earned a trip for 2 on a 7 Day Caribbean Cruise on the Oasis of the Seas!!  Oh yea baby! My hubby couldn’t go because of MMA Training season so I took one of my best friends, Shukria Stewart (APD from Utah).  Over 300 Beachbody Coaches were on the boat including 2 of my Coaches: Lisa Koehler and Kristia Hord!  I was MORE EXCITED for them to have Earned this trip than I honestly was for myself!!  On top of that we met up w/ my Success Partners: Blasi Jacobi, Kristi Fukumoto and my Upline ROCKSTAR Coach – Christine Dwyer & Platinum Presenters Team!!! Not to mention Corporate and staff made the trip as well…..

If you’re thinking, ohhhh it was a Business trip….think AGAIN!! In this Business we don’t know the difference between Work and Play!! And that’s the BEST way to describe my life!! I’m working w/ Positive, Driven People who Love Life and together we are having a BLAST!!!

What did we do? The 3 ports were: Bahamas, St. Thomas & St. Maarten!  It was NON STOP Fun: Turbo Kick w/ Chalene Johnsons, Jet Skiing, Dancing everynight!, Private Cocktail Parties, Dressing up for Dinner was fun everyday, Massages, Facials, Shopping it never ended….

What I’ll never forget is the relationships we built together all while setting up our futures…Thank You Beachbody!!

Day 30 of P90X Hybrid – It’s been rough

Ok this has been a rough past few weeks!  I started off strong but hit a hault when my IBS started to take control of my life…physically, mentally & emotionally I hit the WALL!!  BUT what’s important is that I got right back on track…and I think that’s what we all have to remember, Fitness is a Journey Not a Destination.  It’s a Challenge, a Struggle…but the journey is worth the ride!! Sample of my Daily Eating: Week 3

This is my 3rd week of the P90X/Insanity Hybrid Workout and WOW is it kicking my booty!!!  The first week I was sooo bloated from the diet changes….The second week I was sooo sore from the workouts….The third week I’m starting to feel my metabolism change because I feel hungry, which can be a bit difficult but I know its because my body is starting to burn it up!!  I haven’t lost any weight yet, but I see lots of definition in my upper body, my hips are slimming down and I’m starting to get into the routine of this…

Here is a sample of my Daily Eating Plan:

I’m following a Portion Style Eating Program which is 6 small meals a day, every 3-4 hours.  **You can either count calories or portions, I’ve done both and find this to be much easier FOR ME….similar to the Body for Life Eating Program.  Each “meal” consists of 1 serving of protein, carb, veggies and 2 cups of water!!  I am COOKING!!!  I never cook, I hate it!!  But I know I have to in order to fuel my body properly and to feel truly “satisfied”.  I plan my week in advance every Sunday by picking out my meals/recipies, going to the grocery store and writing everything down for the week to take out the guesswork.  Might sound like a lot of work, but honestly it does save time and money in the long run…

9:00am Workout – 2 cups water

11:00 Egg White Omelet w/ Tomatoes & 2/3 cup. hashbrowns – 2 cups water & Activit Vitamins

1:00pm Tropical Tuna Sandwich (Tuna, crushed pineapple, light miracle whip) 2 slices bread grilled – 2 cups water

4:00pm Chocolate Shakeology w/ Fiber Boost – 2 cups water

7:00pm Salmon – Sweet Potato (small) – Broccoli – 2 cups water!!

9:00pm 1/2 protein bar (or cottage cheese/fruit) – 2 cups water

11:00pm Banana Protein Pudding (1 scoop vanilla protein, 8 oz soy milk, 2 TBL Banana Pudding Mix, 1/2 sliced banana as topping) – 2 cups WATER!!

***So these aren’t the exact times of the day but at least every 3-4 hours I eat!! Lots of WATER and nothing else!  Lots of PROTEIN and 2 Shakes a day!!!

PiYo Rocks Chicago!! Inside an Instructor Training

This was the first PiYo Training I presented with our New Direction of this Exciting Format – Saturday January 22, 2011 Chicago IL Rocked PiYo Lesson 14!!

PiYo is a Cardio & Core Conditioning Mind/Body Format using Yoga & Pilates “Inspired” Movements that incorporates Functional and Plyometric Training choreographed to Music!!  This workout is HOT!! The moves are intense, the music is upbeat and fun and the workout is hard-core!!  Expect to improve Strength, Core Stability, Balance and Flexibility.  It is for ALL LEVELS and can be modified to suit any group.

Today we focused on HOW To Learn to Teach this Format and Become a Trained Instructor in PiYo.  We focused on the foundation of Pilates and Yoga as well as Form/Technique, Breathing, Modifications, Choreography, Cueing and More!!  For most of them, this was their 1st Live PiYo Class so they probably didn’t know quite what to expect….but I think they LOVED it!!

HOW TO Build a Full Time Income as a Fitness Instructor or Personal Trainer

Fitness Instructors & Personal Trainers are people who have chosen a career path that they have a GREAT PASSION for!!  But WHY does that mean that they have to earn less?   One of the questions I get asked all the time is….HOW can I make a Full Time Income as a Group Fitness Instructor/ Personal Trainer either by doing more or supplementing with another area of fitness?

Before I answer that, let me tell you a bit about my history…

Who am I: I’ve been a Group Fitness Instructor for 15 years, a Presenter for Chalene Johnson’s Company for 5 years – Powder Blue Productions – including Turbo Kick, PiYo & Hip Hop Hustle as well as a Continuing Education Provider for ACE & AFAA within those formats.  I’ve been a Club Manager for Women’s Fitness Clubs for over 10 years including many different positions: District Management, Group Fitness Director for 9 clubs & Fitness Director in charge of Personal Training.  I now have my own home based business: Online Marketing in the Fitness Industry.  I share this with you to let you in on my experience in many different areas of Fitness…

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Teaching Group Fitness Classes!!! As do ALL Instructors, we CHOOSE to Motivate everyone in our class to not only get a great workout but to teach them that Fitness can be FUN!!  It is the HIGHLIGHT of my day!!  And if my body could handle it, I probably would teach full-time…but not only is not good for my body to overtrain but its also not fair to my students to burn out on them & not deliver the BEST CLASS!  Instructors teach on average 5-10 classes a week and Personal Trainers are in demand at peak times of the day: mornings, evenings and weekends.  Both of these situations explain why it is a CHALLENGE to Build a Full Time Income as an Instructor or Personal Trainer.

In fact, most Instructors & PT’s work full time and do fitness on the side.  But so many of us STRIVE to be able to do our PASSION full time!!! So, is it possible?  What are the Options?

Options to Make More Income in Fitness:

  • Learning to teach an additional format such as Pilates, Yoga, Turbo Kick, Hip Hop Hustle, PiYo, Strength, Zumba may bring your current hourly rate up (depending on the facility) or give you the opportunity to work more hours as an Instructor!
  • If you are a Group Fitness Instructor, you may consider studying for your Personal Training Certification (or vice versa) Personal Training allows you to work more hours and gives your body a physical break.
  • Club Managers and Owners traditionally make a good salary but they do work long hours due to the responsibility of the staff and team Goals. If you love leading a Team and are a Goal Oriented Individual, this may be of interest to you!
  • Most Fitness Directors teach or train in addition to their required hours to make an additional $5,000-$10,000/yr. to their salary.
